Scleroderma

Scleroderma ("hard skin") is an autoimmune disease where the body's immune system mistakenly attacks its own connective tissues, causing them to produce too much collagen, leading to thickening and hardening of the skin and sometimes internal organs like the heart, lungs, and kidneys. These individuals struggle with this disease every day.
