Motion That Tells the Story

Karen Haberberg is a New York–based commercial photographer and director creating authentic motion and video for healthcare, pharmaceutical, wellness, lifestyle, and corporate brands. Her motion work includes patient stories, interviews, behind-the-scenes content, brand campaigns, and documentary-style storytelling, bringing the same human-centered approach to video that defines her photography.

Acadia — Humanizing Healthcare

Client: Acadia | Services: Photography | Category: Healthcare / Mental Health | Location: NYC

For Acadia, I created healthcare imagery and video for their national disease awareness campaign about recognizing and managing non-motor symptoms of Parkinson’s, including hallucinations and delusions. Reynolds and his mother Tammy share their personal story about the impact of these symptoms on their family.

Transgender Youths

Partners: Harvard University + Moving Pictures | Services: Photography / Storytelling | Category: Documentary / Social Issues

This project explored what it means for transgender young people to understand and express their identities. Created in partnership with Harvard University and Moving Pictures, the project combined intimate portraits with honest conversations about gender, identity, and the experience of being comfortable in one's own skin. My approach was intentionally personal and unobtrusive, creating space for the subjects to speak openly discussing what it feels like to be in their skin. The result was an emotional and heartfelt honest reflection and discussion of their gender choices.

Nutrafol

Client: Nutrafol | Services: Photography & Directing Video | Category: Health / Wellness / Beauty | Location: Brooklyn, NY

For Nutrafol, I created lifestyle photography that connected the brand's wellness message with real, relatable moments. Rather than relying on conventional wellness imagery, I focused on natural interactions, confident subjects, and an elevated but approachable visual aesthetic. The resulting images were designed to communicate healthy living in a way that felt authentic and emotionally engaging across advertising, digital, and social platforms
